Steve Gilson

 
    Steve started Barbershopping at age 13. He was assistant director of a local Barbershop Harmony Society chapter at age 15, holding that position into his 20’s before taking over the directorship for 9 years. All the while Steve has directed SATB church and community choirs for over 25 years. He has been coached as a director by some of the barbershop greats: Jay Butterfield, Ron Black and Dr. Greg Lynne, along with attending many music and drama conferences over the years. An accomplished accompanist and classically trained pianist, Steve is also Minister of Music at St. Barnabas Anglican Church in St. Lambert, QC.
     
    Steve sang Tenor with the District Bronze place medalist men’s quartet Southside for 5 years before taking a break from barbershop for a while. Now he is back and thrilled to be the director of Montreal City Voices !
